Heavy Duty Beach Drone Fishing Rig 200lb Japanese Fujiyama Mono with EZ Baiter Hooks and 3-Way Branch Swivels 

A rig designed for shallow horizontal beach/drone fishing. This rig is our heavy-duty drone rig for Gummys, Snapper, and other sought-after table fish, and it will also handle large Gummys with no problem using these EZ Baiter commercial hooks. It will also take school-size whalers with its built-in line protection and solid construction. This is a highly durable rig that will last for many uses.  

EZ baiter hooks have been used in the commercial sector for many years and have proven to be a reliable hook. A combination of a circle hook and a long shank. The secret with this hook is that the line has to go through the barbed hook side of the eye, thus angling the hook slightly against the leader.  This will now allow for a near-perfect hookup rate, exactly how I have rigged them. They are razor-sharp hooks and will self-set into the fish’s mouth. They are commercial-grade hooks, extremely tough and durable.

Each critical connection point has been crimped to avoid reducing the leader strength due to knots. The Branch swivel used will eliminate any twist-ups and is crimped at 1-meter intervals. The top of the rig is indicated by a glow bead.

If you want to suspend the baits off the bottom to try to avoid Stingrays, Banjo sharks, bait-stealing crabs, and pickers, simply put a float on the drone attachment loop line. This will keep most of the gear off the bottom. A float can be submerged; it’s only there to lift the gear up a bit. Just remember, you may now need a bigger lead to compensate. On deployment, wind to stretch the rig out to avoid tangles, then slacken your rod line to allow the float to lift the gear off the bottom. (see photos and diagrams)
